For this blanket you will need: \n\n1 crochet hook size I (5.5mm) or J (6mm)\nApproximately 1500 yards of worsted (medium) weight\, solid colors\, acrylic or wool blend yarn — you can see the yardage on the yarn label.\nThe color choices are up to you — you can pick a different color for each square\, choose one color for the whole blanket and a different one for the border\, or a range of other options.\n\nHere are some yarn options that would work and suggested quantities.
